ViewSonic VA2626wm Review - CNET

ViewSonic-VA2626wm.jpg

CNET have published a review of the ViewSonic VA2626wm widescreen LCD monitor. 'The ViewSonic VA2626wm's screen is enclosed in a thin 0.8-inch bezel with a smooth black finish. The footstand is about 10 inches in diameter, which is an appropriate width for a screen of this size. The ViewSonic, however, is about 5 pounds lighter than the Samsung SyncMaster 2693HM, and although it has an appropriate-size footstand, thanks to its lighter weight, it was more prone to wobble when we knocked it around. On the back, the chassis has many long vertical grooves with a large raised ViewSonic logo at the top. Although the neck of the stand is made of plastic on the ViewSonic, it does not feel as flimsy as the neck on the Samsung.'

Samsung-XL24-LED-Monitor.jpg

PC Advisor have published a review of the Samsung XL24 24in LED monitor. 'The Samsung XL24 comes bundled with X-rite’s Eye-One Display 2 colourimeter, and Samsung’s own Natural Color Expert and MagicTune software; there’s also a hood to block glare. MagicTune provides basic control over brightness, contrast and other functions, but Natural Colour Expert is the tool most creatives will be interested in, as it provides monitor calibration tuned to the XL range.

Review: NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi 30in Monitor - Trusted Reviews

NEC-MultiSync-LCD3090WQXi-30in-Monitor.jpg

Trusted Reviews have publsihed a review of the NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi 30in monitor. 'NEC has equipped the 3090WQXi with an -S-IPS panel, which, in theory at least, should produce better image quality than an S- PVA panel, especially when being viewed from an angle. However, the Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC sported an S-IPS panel, and the Samsung SyncMaster 305t pretty much ran rings around it image quality wise, despite featuring a S-PVA panel. But that just proves that panel technology isn't the be all and end all, and it's as much to do with how a manufacturer implements that panel. So, while some manufacturers use In Plane Switching panels as a marketing tool, NEC has used the technology with image quality firmly in mind, resulting in the best 30in display I've ever seen.'

Samsung SyncMaster 305T LCD Monitor Review - CNET

Samsung-SyncMaster-305T-LCD-Monitor.jpg

CNET have published a review of the 30-inch Samsung SyncMaster 305T LCD monitor. ‘The biggest selling point for the Samsung SyncMaster 305T is its huge 30-inch screen, which supports a native resolution of 2,560x1,600. To view the screen at this very high resolution, you must have a high-end video card and a dual-link DVI cable. If you use a single link DVI cable or your video card does not support a resolution that high, then the display will output to 1,920x1,440 at its highest. Luckily, Samsung includes a dual link cable.

Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP Review - CNET

Dell-UltraSharp-2408WFP.jpg

A review of the Dell 2408WFP UltraSharp 24" Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor has been posted over at CNET. ‘The Dell 2408WFP shares the same basic design as its predecessor, the UltraSharp 2407WFP. This includes the relatively thin bezel around the edge of the screen with the Dell logo along the bottom. The onscreen display is easy to navigate and includes the usual options of brightness, contrast, color, and so on. We also liked that the OSD stays on the screen long enough to evaluate any changes you make while calibrating the display. There are also six included preset modes for activities such as playing games, watching movies, and graphics work that affect color temperature, contrast, and brightness.’

Review: HANNSG HG216DP Flat Panel Display - IT Reviews

HANNSG-HG216DP.jpg

IT Reviews have published a review of the HANNSG HG216DP HD monitor. 'The controls are discreetly hidden under the bottom right of the display but are easy to operate, with the usual manual and auto settings plus scrolling buttons. The stand, though, took some shoving to fix in place and offers only a 20-degree tilt and no height adjustment. It's when you get around the back that you notice that - as well as the standard VGA and audio inputs - there's also an HDMI input in place of the usual DVI. For those not in the know, a High-Definition Multimedia Interface is the first to provide uncompressed digital video and audio, so you end up with a ‘pure' translation from the source. HDMI has a 5Gbps bandwidth which means it has lots of spare capacity for future expansion.'

Review: Apple - 23-inch Cinema HD Display - IT Reviews

Apple-Cinema-Display.jpg

IT Reviews have published a review of the Apple 23-inch Cinema Display LCD monitor. 'Setting up the display is the work of moments. You get the bare minimum of controls which live on the right-hand end of the display, so there's an On/Off button and Brightness Up and Down controls. There's no contrast control or On Screen Display and you don't need them, although Mac users do have the ability to control settings from Mac OS. On the front of the bezel the only feature is a polished Apple logo and in the corner is the most tiny of LEDs which only lights up for a moment when you press the On/Off button. Every other manufacturer feels the need to present you with a light that stays on permanently to let you know that the display is on when this must surely be obvious most of the time.'

Review: Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP-HC 24-inch) Widescreen Flat Panel LCD Monitor - CNET

Dell-UltraSharp-2407WFP-HC.jpg

A review of the Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP-HC (24-inch) Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor has been posted over at CNET. 'The basic frame and stand of the UltraSharp remains the same as it has for roughly the past two years. It's a clean-enough design that doesn't quite have the aesthetic polish of an Apple display, but it's suitable for display in any environment. The screen is easy to attach and remove, and the stand gives you just as much adjustability as NEC's recent 24-incher (and much more than any Apple monitor), including tilt, pivot, up-and-down, and 90 degrees of rotation to move into portrait mode.

ViewSonic VX2255wmb Review - ZDNet

ViewSonic-VX2255wmb.jpg

A review of the 22-inch wide LCD ViewSonic VX2255wmb monitor has been posted over at ZDNet. 'The ViewSonic VX2255wmb sits squarely in the middle of ViewSonic's X Series line of consumer LCDs. ViewSonic lists a price of $411, but you can generally find the LCD online for $50 less, which is about average for a 22-inch LCD. Given the various devices you can today connect to an LCD, we were surprised to find a limited amount of video ports, which may inspire you to look elsewhere if you require component or S-Video connections. For those who need only a DVI or a VGA port, the wide-screen ViewSonic VX2255wmb provides excellent image quality under a variety of scenarios. Its piano-black bezel gives the display a modern look, and the Webcam that's built in above the display provides easy Web conferencing.'
