Latte Ice PMP Review - TechShout

Latte-Ice-PMP.jpg

TechShout have published a review of the Latte Ice flash portable media player. 'Latte’s Ice includes all the necessary features that a basic PMP needs to incorporate. With a 3.5mm Stereo Earphone Output, the player actually comes with no additional frills and useless extras that at times remain unexplored by layman users. The Ice plays MP3, WMA, FLAC and APE audio formats along with MPEG AVI and FLV videos. However it is necessary to note here that to enjoy videos on your Ice, you have to convert them in appropriate formats with the help of the software, which comes bundled with the player.'

Zune 2 80GB MP3 Player Review - Bona Fide Reviews

Zune-2-80GB-MP3-Player.jpg

Bona Fide Reviews have published their review of the Zune 2 80GB digital media player. 'Overall, Zune 80 is a good media player. With most of the features of the iPod and a few additional ones, it is an excellent alternative to the iPod. The premium headphones that come with the Zune are great, but, unfortunately, they are also a slight weak point. Instead of a normal plastic cable, these headphones use a soft fabric cable, which gives it a unique look and feel. This same fabric, I believe, is also the culprit that conducts the static charge that annoys so many people, especially in the winter.

Baylis Eco Media Player EMP-MX71 Review - IT Reviews

Baylis-Eco-Media-Player-EMP-MX71-Reviewed.jpg

IT Reviews have published their review of the wind-up Baylis Eco Media Player EMP-MX71. 'There are a couple of unique features to this 2GB, flash-based player, which flow directly from the wind-up generator. Firstly, it comes with a selection of USB-to-mobile phone connectors and these can be used to provide emergency charging to most types of phone. A minute's winding gives around two minutes talk time. Secondly, there's an LED torch built into the top end of the player, which is powerful enough to find your way by and gives about 25 minutes of light for each minute on the hand crank.'

Apple iPod Classic 80 GB Review - MobilitySite

Apple-iPod-Classic-80-GB.jpg

The MobilitySite have published a review of the Apple iPod Classic 80 GB digital media player. 'The 80 GB Classic is surprisingly svelte, measuring 4.1″ x 2.4″ wide x .41″ deep, and weighs a mere 4.9 oz. Last year’s 5th gen 80 GB iPod was .55″ deep and weighed 4.8 oz, so they are very similar. But the new version offers far more storage at lower prices. The iPod retains last year’s 2.5″, 320 x 240 screen and matching click wheel. It comes in silver or black. It seems that black is the new white at Apple. Witness the iPhone, and iPod Touch. Black is IN. The face is made of non-smudging aluminum, while the rear is shiny, mirror finished metal that definitely shows finger prints.'

iSkin Cerulean TX/RX Review - Computeractive

iSkin-Cerulean-TX-RX.jpg

Computeractive have published a review of the iSkin Cerulean TX/RX wireless stereo Bluetooth transmitter and receiver. ‘iSkin’s Cerulean TX/RX provides a simple method of listening to iPod music via Bluetooth wireless connection. The package has two parts - the TX is a little Bluetooth transmitter that connects either to an iPod or to a computer, while the RX is a receiver that plugs into iPod speakers. There’s no software to install - the TX and RX automatically pair to each other to send and receive music. This took longer than the 20 seconds claimed in the manual and we were already flicking through for help before the paired connection set itself up properly. Apart from that minor glitch it worked perfectly.’

Samsung P2 4GB Review – Digital Trends

Samsung-P2-4GB.jpg

A review of the Samsung P2 4GB portable media player has been posted over at Digital Trends. ‘The black plastic-bodied unit measures 3.4 by 2.05 by .39 inches and weighs a hair over 3 ounces. Overall, the P2 feels good in our hand; though we wish the buttons on the sides were placed closer to the top of the device for better comfort. The screen picks up fingerprints easily but is scuff-resistant, though we have a tendency to take good care of our electronics. You can pick up the P2 in two flash memory configurations: 4GB ($200 USD) or 8GB ($250 USD). Given that Samsung manufactures its own flash memory – as well as the fact that there’s a 16GB iPod touch -- we’re surprised no 16GB P2 exists yet.’

Insignia Pilot Review - CNET

Insignia-Pilot-with-Bluetooth-8GB.jpg

CNET have published their review of the Insignia Pilot with Bluetooth (8GB) media player. 'Compared with many other flash MP3 players, the Insignia Pilot is not the most compact device: it measures 4 inches by 1.9 inches by 0.4 inch, so it's not huge but a bit on the long side. It's also not overtly stylish, but with its black body wrapped in a brushed silver trim, the player isn't an eyesore, either. The face of the Pilot features an ample 2.4-inch color LCD screen on the left and a control pad on the right. The latter consists of a menu button and mechanical scroll ring with four-way clicking capability surrounding a Play/Pause key. A Power/Hold switch and the rather unique star-rating toggle line the top edge of the player, and the ports--headphone, line-in/secondary headphone, and standard mini USB--reside along the right spine. Best Buy has also built-in SD card expansion slot into the bottom of the player, which is handy for users who don't want to be limited to 8GB of memory.'

Creative Zen 4GB Review - Computeractive

Creative-Zen-4GB-Computeractive.jpg

Computeractive have published their review of the Creative Zen 4GB portable media player. 'The Zen 4GB has a 2.5in screen and is capable of video playback at full speed - some players drop frames from the video, making watching action films less fun, but that's not a problem with this one. An extremely clear screen and great sound quality from the supplied headphones often made us think we were viewing video from the comfort of a living room. Luckily we remembered just in time before trying to get comfortable and put our feet up on the train's seats. The music player is sleek and small, and fitted easily into a pocket. However, the navigation buttons, which sit on the right-hand side of the player, are small and fiddly to use, especially if your fingers are larger than average.'
