Powerchimp Portable Charger Review - Digital Reviews Network

Powerchimp-Portable-Charger.jpg

Digital Reviews Network have published a review of the Powerchimp portable charger. ‘Just like the older sibling, the Powerchimp's battery comes with partial charge ready to go. Recharging is done via the included retractable USB cable and takes 5 hours to fully charge. No doubt it would be possible to use the wall charger from Powermonkey and get the job done quicker. During a gadget charging process, a green LED flashes periodically to indicate that it is discharging. The indicator turns red as it runs low on charge. The Powerchimp is rated for two full recharges of most mobile phones before requiring its own recharge.’

DC24 Dyson Ball Vacuum Cleaner Review - Pocket-Lint

DC24-Dyson-Ball-vacuum-cleaner.jpg

Pocket-Lint have published a review of the DC24 Dyson Ball "Mini-Me" vacuum cleaner. 'We used the DC24 on carpet, floorboards and slate and cleaned a series of dirts such as flour, dog hair and even garden dirt. Like the DC15 the manoeuvrability is impressive with the claim of being able to turn on a sixpence being true. Drawbacks we found however are the size of the bin, something that shouldn't bother you if you are only cleaning a small flat and a fiddly hand wand set-up that requires you to construct it every time rather than as with the bigger model just extend it. However, where the DC24 outperforms the regular-sized DC15 is in its size and weight. It weighs 5.4kg.'

iRobot Roomba Scheduler Review - The Gadgeteer

iRobot-Roomba-Scheduler.jpg

The Gadgeteer have publihsed a review of the iRobot Roomba Scheduler vacuum. 'Overall, the Roomba does an excellent job of cleaning, even though it was challenged in our house by dog and cat fur. Initially, it was louder than I originally anticipated, but we quickly became accustomed to the sound, especially in exchange for not having to run the regular vacuum. The virtual walls work well, but I was unable to find any way of scheduling these to turn on with the vacuum, so we had to remember to turn them on a few minutes before the vacuum turned on. The vacuum actually stops a couple of inches short of the virtual wall, but this wasn’t normally enough to worry about.'

SKIL Miter Saw: Precision Cuts - Motion-Activated

SKIL%20Miter%20Saw.jpg

The new SKIL Miter Saw [10 in. Model 3800] which becomes available to consumers in November features motion activated, two-beam laser technology which makes lining up a cut "easier than ever". 'The never-before-seen technology that comprises the SmartCut system allows users to make cuts faster and safer than ever before. As the operator comes within range of the saw, its motion-activated laser system automatically turns on. With both hands free, the user can now position their cut line between the two laser beams that project onto the material. Similar to other newly-introduced Skil saws, the two-beam laser technology shows the user exactly what portion of the material will be removed during the cut, lessening the opportunity for imperfect cuts. And, since the lasers are activated by motion instead of pulling the trigger, users no longer have to adjust their workpiece with one hand.'

Netgear HDX101 Powerline HD Ethernet Adapter Review

Netgear HDX101 Powerline HD Ethernet Adapter.jpg

Technology Review examines one option for providing Ethernet connectivity to computers in your home. 'Wireless networking equipment is cheap, convenient and widespread. If you want to connect computers in your home, is it really worth doing it with wires? The answer, surprisingly, is yes. And you don't need to pull the wires through the house either: they're already there. I'm talking about turning the electrical wiring into a computer network. The technology has been around for several years but has never really taken off, because the wireless technology known as Wi-Fi allows for more mobility and greater speeds. Netgear Inc.'s new HDX101 Powerline HD Ethernet Adapter (suggested price $250) closes that speed gap and provides some advantages that make it a worthy complement to Wi-Fi, if perhaps not a replacement.'
