LIFI™ Entertainment light sources reduce the power consumed by moving heads, follow spots and other stage and studio lighting equipment by as much as 50 percent compared with those that use conventional HID lamps. In concert venues where 100 or more fixtures are used, the reduction in power consumption can exceed 20 kilowatts. Dimming the source provides additional system efficiency boost.

The new product lasts up to 10 times as long as HID light sources. This carries significant advantages for entertainment applications. For instance, stage crews must replace light bulbs used in conventional equipment after only a few hundred hours of use, which means costly lamp replacement as frequently as every month, in locations that are usually elevated and hard to reach. LIFI light sources last the lifetime of the equipment itself and operate reliably for several years. The ruggedness and stability of the source eliminate the breakage and light loss that affect conventional lamps.

Finally, the LIFI product is substantially quieter than traditional HID sources. This is due to lower heat dissipation from the highefficiency LIFI source, which reduces the number of noisy fans that are routinely deployed to cool conventional lighting. When combined, the reduced sound interference and enhanced lighting contribute to a much higher‐quality experience for demanding audiences.

This is the second product LUXIM has brought to the marketplace for Entertainment lighting and represents development of a 50% increase in product light output capability in less than a year.
